Plastic Surgery and Confidence – A Candid Look at the Procedure

Plastic surgery, what? It’s a bit like opening a “can of worms”, but the worms are questions about beauty, your identity, and what you’re willing endure in pain for a better jawline learn more. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Let’s begin by discussing why people elect to undergo a surgical procedure. Some want to fix a problem that they notice every time they glance in the reflection. Perhaps it’s an ear that makes them feel like Dumbo or a nose so big that Pinocchio would be jealous. Others have experienced a tough time–like an injury or illness-and want to feel more like themselves.

This is where things start to heat up: the beauty debate. Instagram filters and Photoshop are setting some pretty crazy standards. Is plastic surgical treatment just another way of chasing an impossible fantasy? Or does it have more to do with feeling good about yourself? It could be a combination of the two.

The surgeons are the true magicians. These aren’t doctors. They use their scalpels to paint. These artists aren’t just doctors, but also artists who use scalpels to paint. Instead of sunsets and still lifes, their work involves reshaping the nose and tucking the stomach. It takes them years to learn how to do their job, and it is no easy feat.

The decision to undergo plastic surgery is not as simple as choosing what you want to eat for your breakfast. This is a major decision. You’ve got to do your homework–researching procedures, finding the right doctor (someone who knows their stuff and isn’t just looking to make a quick buck), and understanding all the risks involved.

Even the best surgeons can have complications. Even the best surgeons are not immune to complications. Also, you could be disappointed with the outcome. Ever heard of a buyer’s guilt? Imagine if you felt that way after buying a new nose.

Funny thing is, despite these potential risks, people still line up like Black Friday shoppers at Best Buy for cosmetic surgery. Why? The confidence boost you get when things go well can be incredible! Imagine yourself looking into the mirror and being happy every time. For those who are willing to make this leap, it is their reality.

It’s up to you whether you decide to get work done, or if you just want an answer as why anyone would choose to be poked and prodded.

If you feel like you need to alter something, or if you are happy with what Mother Nature has provided you, then go ahead! If someone feels great after getting a lip filler or nose job, then go for it! What do you think?

Keep in mind, children: beauty may only be on the surface but what about feeling good? You can have it all the way to your toes. It’s already a pretty cool look, no need for a surgeon. We can wrap up like a mummified post-op when we want to.

Then, let’s get started! Our little talk on plastic surgeries is over.

Keep in mind: beauty may be only skin deep, but how do we decide to look (pun intended), at our reflections on a daily basis? That goes straight to our core.
